Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Loopy iOS application, the website at loopy.ink, and related services (collectively, the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Loopy is operated by Aleksei Kogan (individual developer). Questions about these Terms: alekseikogan2013@gmail.com.

1. The Service

Loopy helps you track recurring tasks and habits. You can use the app without an account; in that case, your tasks are stored locally on your device. Optional features — including cloud sync, the AI help assistant, and higher active task limits — require a Loopy Pro subscription or free trial, subject to availability.

We may add, change, or remove features at any time. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country) to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the Service only with permission of a parent or legal guardian who accepts these Terms on your behalf.

3. Accounts and security

You may sign in with Apple, Google, or email and password. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for activity under your account. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.

You agree that account information you provide is accurate and that you will update it when it changes. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or pose a security risk.

You may delete your account in the app (Settings → Account → Delete account). See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your data.

4. Subscriptions and billing

Loopy Pro subscriptions are sold through Apple In-App Purchase. Payment, renewal, cancellation, refunds, and family sharing are governed by Apple’s terms and your Apple ID settings.

  • Prices are shown in the app before purchase and may vary by region.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Manage or cancel subscriptions in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your device.
  • Deleting your Loopy account does not cancel an active Apple subscription.
  • Free trials, if offered, convert to a paid subscription unless cancelled before the trial ends.

We do not process payment card data. Apple provides purchase receipts; we store subscription status to unlock Pro features.

5. Your content and data

You retain ownership of the task titles, descriptions, and other content you enter into Loopy (“User Content”). You grant us a limited license to host, process, and display User Content solely to operate the Service (for example, to sync tasks when you have cloud access).

You are responsible for your User Content and for maintaining your own backups (export is available in Settings). We are not liable for loss of data caused by device failure, uninstallation, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for unlawful, harmful, or abusive purposes
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems, other users’ accounts, or data
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or tamper with the app except where permitted by law
  • Overload, disrupt, or interfere with the Service or its infrastructure
  • Use automated means to scrape or extract data from the Service without permission
  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation

We may investigate violations and take action, including suspension or termination.

7. AI help assistant

The in-app AI assistant answers questions about Loopy using our official help documentation and third-party AI services. Answers are provided for general guidance only and may be incomplete or inaccurate.

  • Do not rely on the assistant for legal, medical, financial, or safety-critical decisions.
  • Do not submit passwords, recovery codes, payment details, or other sensitive secrets.
  • Chat history is not stored on our servers; see the Privacy Policy for details.

8. Intellectual property

The Service, including the Loopy name, logo, app design, website, and documentation (excluding your User Content), is owned by us or our licensors and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our trademarks without prior written consent.

9. Third-party services

The Service integrates with third parties such as Apple, Google, OpenAI, and Sentry. Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

We do not warrant that the Service will meet your requirements, be uninterrupted, secure, or free of errors, or that defects will be corrected.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE AND OUR AFFILIATES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) USD $50.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms, except to the extent caused by our intentional misconduct or gross negligence.

13. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or to protect the Service or other users.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law) will survive.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Material changes may also be communicated in the app or by email where appropriate. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

15. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the European Union member state where the operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your country provide otherwise.

If you are a consumer in the EU, you may also use the European Commission’s Online Dispute Resolution platform. We encourage you to contact us first at alekseikogan2013@gmail.com so we can try to resolve concerns informally.
